One Month of Project 365

It’s been four weeks since I started the Project 365 task and although I’ve had to backdate some posts, there are 28 posts for the year so far.

Although I may not have played the game I blog about on that day, it has been played within a few days and the screenshots/images/photos are new and from the gaming session being blogged about. It’s going quite well, even though there are a lot of Skyrim posts, that’s mostly because it’s the main game I’m playing, but I do play other games to blog about that breaks up the Skyrim posts.

Anyway, I hope your Project 365 blog is going well and if you’d like to see mine, just visit mentalaceman.wordpress.com.

As I leave behind my Community Manager days at Xbox, I want to share some of the things I’ve learned over the years. So CMs and CM-hopefuls, take note!

1) It’s not about you Being a community manager is not a chance for you to become a celebrity or to pump up your ‘personal brand’ (puke). If community is a party, you should strive to be the host with the most, not the drunk dude with a lampshade on his head or the lady surrounded by suitors like Scarlett O’Hara at the Twelve Oaks picnic.

Project 365: One Week Later

Although this is my main blog, it’s not being used for WordPress.com’s Project 365.

My idea for that was to play at least one videogame each day and blog about it, I may play a few games some days, but will just blog about one. It has reached day 7 and is there for anyone to read if you would care to do so, each post should only take a couple of minutes!

Anyway, if you want to read about my Project 365, go to mentalaceman.wordpress.com.

Thank you!

2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 79,000 times in 2011. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 3 days for that many people to see it.

Stop with the Facebook Status Paranoia Already

Česky: Logo Facebooku English: Facebook logo E...

If there’s one thing that annoys me most about social networks, it’s the people who don’t understand them and especially Facebook where you get countless sheep copying and pasting text because they don’t really understand what it means. Viral statuses are the worst affliction to be set upon you, you know they’re moronic and just there to cause unnecessary panic, but you don’t want to say anything because they’re your friends.
